In the truck-mounted class, Liebherr's 60-ton LTF 1060-4.1 mobile crane provides great performance in a compact and easy-to-maintain package. This four-axle machine is incredibly road friendly while its high capacity telescoping boom gives you lots of options on the job site. The icing on the cake is the fact that the LTF 1060-4.1 is ready to go as soon as it reaches its destination.

If easy mobility is important to you, you'll be happy to know that the crane unit is built on a standard truck chassis with all the necessary equipment already on board. Technically that qualifies the LTF 1060-4.1 as a taxi-class crane, but Liebherr certainly doesn't sacrifice load capacity or overall performance as a result.

The LTF 1060-4.1 looks right at home hoisting cooling units to the top of a commercial building. Yet it works equally well loading and unloading cargo, moving fuel tanks, and performing salvage operations down at the docks. State-of-the-art technology, including full remote control of all crane movements, makes this unit a great option for so many applications.

Crane Carrier

For this truck mounted crane Liebherr works with several different partners to build the entire package. The frame is manufactured by SCANIA (type CB 8x4 MHZ), and the buyer has the option of mounting it on a Mercedes-Benz ACTROS 4141K 8x4 or MAN TGS 41.400 8x4BB truck body. The size and parameters of the drive engine will obviously depend on the truck body chosen.

The Liebherr frame is manufactured in a box design utilizing high tensile structural steel and all-weld construction. The outrigger system consists of four supporting points, each with hydraulically telescoping beams that can be moved both horizontally and vertically.  Outriggers can be deployed with a remote control; automatic levelling and inclination display are supported.

Crane Superstructure

The LTF 1060-4.1 features a buckle-resistant and torsion proof telescoping boom consisting of four sections and a base. Each section extends independently from the rest using the crane's hydraulic system. Boom length ranges from 10.2m to 40m and is balanced by a 10.2 ton counterweight system. Additional single and double folding jibs add 9.5m and 16m respectively, and can be installed at 0°, 20° or 40°.

A corrosion-resistant operator's cab offers full field of vision with plenty of safety glass and a rear tilt of up to 20°. An acoustical lining also acts as installation to keep heat in and noise out, while tinted screens make it easier to work in bright sunlight. The operator will enjoy a fully adjustable seat with lumbar support as well as ergonomic controls and graphically displayed electronic control system.

Electronic Control System

The electronic control system is an in-house product built by Liebherr specifically for the companies different lines of cranes. In this case both hardware and software are uniquely engineered to take full advantage of the mechanical superiority of the LTF 1060-4.1 in order to give maximum performance in the field.

One of the key components of the LICCON computer system (Liebherr Computed Control) lies in the company's decision to go with dedicated digital data points and custom-designed busses rather than standard electrical connections. This engineering provides faster data reporting, better response time, and an environment which is incredibly user-friendly.

Making the package even better, Liebherr opted to make it totally operational from the ground using an optional remote control. This means the operator doesn't need to be in the cab if circumstances dictate he could perform better from the ground. With the LTF 1060-4.1 and its LICCON computer system, it's all about the operator doing the best job he possibly can.

The LTF 1060-4.1 is easily one of Liebherr's most appreciated products because it can do so much. At the same time it is cost-effective, compact, great on fuel, and very operator-friendly. Expect to see more of these cranes on all types of job sites for years to come.
