About us

The TCM team is centrally based at Hinckley in Leicestershire. The team supports the UK dealer network with strong back up and keeps momentum behind the ongoing business.

Terry Robinson – Managing Director

Terry Robinson started IED, TCM’s UK distributor, in 1992.

Terry began his career in sales and he soon entered a management role at transport and logistics company Lex in 1972. In 1983 he became managing director of their subsidiary company Lex Harvey Ltd which was the UK`s largest independent fork lift truck rental company with 20 depots nationwide. The economy was recovering from serious recession and he transformed the company from a loss-making business into a profitable and widely respected company.

In 1987, Terry was appointed managing director of Transfleet Services Ltd, a joint venture between Lex and Lombard North Central and one of the UK`s major commercial vehicle contract hire, rental and logistics companies. By way of two major acquisition and strong organic growth he built the company from £30m to a colossal £130m turnover company in just 4 years.

Today TCM UK is one of the most respected and successful companies in TCM’s Europe region. Their success was recognised in 2007 with TCM`s “Distributor of Excellence” Award for outstanding sales performance. They were in fact the top selling distributor in Europe as well as achieving the greatest growth.

Terry lives in Leicestershire, plays golf and enjoys watching rugby.

Louise MacLellan, Office and Finance Manager

Louise is Office and Finance Manager based in Hinckley. In fact she celebrates ten years with the company this summer (2008). Before joining the company she had 10 years experience in European freight, import and export and logistics. Her experience in these fields has been a huge advantage. Louise has shipped thousands of trucks into the UK and out to dealers.

Louise is a rugby enthusiast, but prefers watching and the social side of the game.

Phillip Hutchinson, Spares Manager

Phillip is Spares Manager and has been working with TCM Spares for since 1970. That’s 38 years! Phillip brings a vast knowledge of spares and warranty and assists dealers with technical support and parts identification.

In his spare time, Phillip is an avid reader with an appetite for just about everything in print.

 

Mike Mills, Sales Director

Mike has been in the fork truck industry man and boy. He joined TCM in 1995 to work with Terry to build a UK dealer network with strong independent dealers who would be able to fly the flag for this global brand. In 1999 TCM was named 8th largest manufacturer in the world and strong independent sales and sevice networks, like that in the UK, are the bedrock of TCM`s sales and customer support systems.

Previously Mike spent 25 years Eddison Plant Ltd- Yale’s UK dealer. As a director of that company Mike had responsibility for Yale’s sales, service, financial performance via a depot structure throughout the Midlands. Mike is a knowledgeable and trustworthy man who supports and works with the whole TCM UK dealer network.

Mike is a dedicated follower of football and lifelong supporter of Aston Villa.
